The conference officially started last Tuesday, April, 12, but actually it started even earlier, April 1. The contributors come from Israel, Mykolaiv, Kyiv and our University. Around 20 presentations have been accepted and put on our conference space at http://asoc-dim.blogspot.com/ and more than 30 papers have been submitted. Observers from all over the world have been visiting our virtual conference (20 countries for now) and are looking forward to the live gathering in Skype. The organizing committee is likely to decide what day and time it is going to be scheduled for.

This workshop was scheduled for the XYI TESOL-Ukraine Convention and run in two ways: Nina Lyulkun online in the virtual class WiZiQ and Ruslana Shamanska on-site.
In spite of we faced a great problem with the Internet connection, we thought a way out of this difficulty: Ruslana offered to use Skype (as it was only that worked on my side). Ruslana demonstrated half of my presentation and then started her own on-site.
Thank goodness, connection was recovered and I connected to WIZIQ on the last minutes scheduled.
I am very much obliged to Olena Franchuk for joining me in the class and we run a very short session in WiZiQ. I am not sure if it was perfect, but we managed to do that!
I hope next time will be more successful.

Residents near the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant in Fukushima Prefecture were ordered to evacuate Tuesday, raising concerns about radiation exposure.

Here are basic questions and answers on what to do when faced with possible radiation contamination:

I live within 20 to 30 km of the power plant. What should I do?

Masaharu Hoshi, professor at Hiroshima University's Research Institute for Radiation Biology and Medicine, advises residents in the evacuation zone to stay indoors, keep all doors and windows shut and keep fans and air conditioners off to prevent contaminated air from entering.

What if I have to go outside?

According to the National Institute of Radiological Science website, it is important for residents near the power plant to cover up and prevent skin exposure. At the same time, in order not to inhale radioactive material, cover your mouth and nose with a wet towel or handkerchief.

The following communication with the friend from America has provoked me to post this clip and ask you to comment on here.

Dear Dennis,
I received your message some days ago, but tried to find out the info you requested for, but in vain.

Actually, I'm not surprised that you couldn't find any information.

I read all the comments that were listed with the video. Many people have tried to learn more about the singer and the group, but their efforts have also been in vain.
The person who posted the video said that he (a speaker of French and English) was unable to communicate with the group because they didn't speak French or English, so he knew nothing about them except that they probably gave their concert to try to sell some CDs.

I am also amazed with the beautiful voice of the young guy. I've never heard such before. I really donno who he is.

I was also amazed. His voice is incredibly beautiful and he sings very expressively. It seems unbelievable that someone with such a wonderful voice could be unknown. However, one person said the following in his or her comments:
-- "You do not see this kind of quality very often on this side of the world, but it seems to be so common in Russia, where great choirs abound."
-- "It is almost unbelievable that an ensemble like this is still unknown. . . . There is something about the Russian music and soul that you can't find in any other country."
I completely agree with these comments. I have heard many, many renditions of Russian choral works by Western choirs, and it's rare that Western groups capture the beauty of Russian singing.

Thanks again for trying to find more information about the singers. I greatly appreciate it!

I am a choir director at a Russian Orthodox Church in Eastern Pennsylvania, and I'm usually able to find out various choirs. Perhaps I can ask at the monastery if anyone knows who they are.

Maybe if we keep posting and commenting on this video, youtube could do something to bring them to light. It would be a great contribution to music, and music lovers the world over would be benefited. You do not see this kind of quality very often on this side of the world, but it seems to be so common in Russia, where great choirs abound. The Russian Orthodox tradition of singing is, in my opinion, a great, if not the greatest contributions to choral music ever.

Thank you for expressing what I've been feeling about this video for quite a while. I watch it nearly every day in the last months. May be youtube would put this video on their homepage and expose it to as many people as possible, and by chance someone who knows of them can give some information.

It is almost unbelievable that an ensemble like this is still unknown. I have been listening to Russian choir music, and I have a fairly large collection of CD's, but to hear a group of voices so harmonious and a soloist so powerful and not being able to hear more from them is quite disheartening. There is something about the Russian music and soul that you can't find in any other country. If anyone finds anything about this group, please post. I will not get tired of watching this clip.
